New episodes run through the Indian evening, roughly 7:00 to 10:30 PM. On summer clocks that is 2:30 to 6:00 PM in the UK, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern and 6:30 to 10:00 AM Pacific; after the autumn clock changes each of those falls an hour earlier, since India doesn't move its clocks.

A practical consequence: with four networks premiering against each other in the same slot, two households in the same Marathi mandal often follow different serials entirely. Four simultaneous streams and a week of catch-up mean nobody in your house has to choose.

A Marathi film opens in cinemas across Maharashtra, runs on a streaming service, and then gets its television premiere on one of these channels — usually promoted for days beforehand and slotted into a weekend afternoon or evening in India. Between premieres, all four run back catalogue, so there's almost always a Marathi film playing somewhere.

For viewers abroad the awkward part is that slot: a Sunday-afternoon premiere in India plays on Sunday morning in North America and Sunday afternoon in Britain, while an evening premiere lands in the middle of the American working day. Catch-up covers the gap for a week, and the channels repeat premieres within days.

Assembly sessions, civic body results and monsoon and farm coverage all move fast, and the seven channels do not cover them identically — the newspaper-owned ones tend to be stronger on district reporting, while the national networks lead on Mumbai politics.

Around Ganeshotsav, the news channels give over a large share of their schedules to the festival, including processions and darshan from Mumbai's best-known mandals. The on-screen guide is the quickest way to find which channel is carrying what on a given day.
